Student of the year
"There are many among the 2.9 million students who are involved in state and society, politics and associations, but above all in voluntary and altruistic activities beyond their specialist studies," explained DHV President Professor Dr. Bernhard Kempen and DSW President Professor Dr. Rolf-Dieter Postlep. "The German University Association (DHV) and the German Student Union (DSW) want to make this commitment more visible with the award 'Student of the Year' by giving publicity to a particularly positive example of student commitment".
Who will be "Student of the Year"? For the sixth time, the German Association of Universities and the German Student Union (Deutsches Studentenwerk) are awarding the prize for student commitment, which they jointly created five years ago. The prize is to be awarded at the "Gala of German Science" on March 22, 2021 in Berlin, which will be held online due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic.
