Welcome money 2020

The city of Chemnitz welcomes all new inhabitants with a gift of 100€, called welcome money (“Begrüßungsgeld”). Applications for welcome money can be sent by letter to the City Registration Office of Chemnitz until 31.03.2021.

The requirements for a successful application is that you are registered as a resident in Chemnitz for the first time in 2020. Furthermore, an enrolment certificate (“Immatrikulationsbescheinigung”) for the summer semester 2020 or the winter semester 2020/2021 of the TU Chemnitz is required.
