Apple tree planting in front of the halls of residence in Chemnitz
As part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, young fruit trees are being planted in various parts of the city for the project GELEBTE NACHBARSCHAFT. Joyful fruit for everyone is the aim of the project, which is being realized and lived by many different people working together in partnerships. The Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau also provided meadows for the planting of the apple trees. The first three trees were planted in the meadow in front of mensa55 on 23.10.2024.
We cordially invite you to the second planting event on Friday, 08.11.24, from 14:30, in front of our dormitories and in our Campulino daycare center. The meeting point is the “UniPaRadieschen” permaculture garden in front of the Vettersstraße 52 hall of residence. Almost 20 trees will be planted this afternoon. You are also welcome to lend a hand and, for example, hold the trees while they are being planted, fill in the soil, step on it and water it. The Mensa team will provide everyone involved with tea, punch, coffee, beer as well as delicious apple and pumpkin soup and rice pudding with apple sauce and sugar-cinnamon (while stocks last).
Come along, we look forward to your support!
