Blood donation at the DRK

The German Red Cross (DRK) will once again be hosting a blood drive at the Club der Kulturen at Thüringer Weg 3 on November 29, 2022 from 11:00 to 16:00. Please reserve an appointment online. We can only accept spontaneous donations without an appointment if there is capacity. 

The access to the donation center is only possible with a protective mask. Donors will receive these at the entrance to the donation center.

If you bring a first-time donor, you will receive a free shopping basket. If you bring two or more first-time donors, you can enter a lottery drawing for a cooking class.

Here's how the blood donation process works:

1. Visit www.blutspende-nordost.de to make an appointment.

2. You will sign in with your ID card.

3. Your current state of health will be evaluated with a questionnaire.

4. Your blood pressure, body temperature and hemoglobin level will be determined during the preliminary examination.

5. Your ability to donate will be determined in a confidential medical interview.

6. 500ml of whole blood will be collected within a few minutes during the blood donation.

7. A rest break with a snack is provided so that you can recover from the donation.
