„Es gibt viele unter den 2,9 Millionen Studierenden, die über ihr Fachstudium hinaus in Staat und Gesellschaft, Politik und Vereinen, vor allem aber ehrenamtlich und altruistisch engagiert sind“, erklärten DHV-Präsident Professor Dr. Bernhard Kempen und DSW-Präsident Professor Dr. Rolf-Dieter Postlep. „Dieses Engagement wollen der Deutsche Hochschulverband (DHV) und das Deutsche Studentenwerk (DSW) mit der Auszeichnung ,Student/-in des Jahres’ sichtbarer machen, indem sie einem besonders positiven Beispiel studentischen Engagements Öffentlichkeit verschaffen.“

Wer wird „Student/-in des Jahres“? Der Deutsche Hochschulverband und das Deutsche Studentenwerk schreiben zum sechsten Mal den Preis für studentisches Engagement aus, den sie vor fünf Jahren gemeinsam ins Leben gerufen haben. Der Preis soll auf der „Gala der Deutschen Wissenschaft“ am 22. März 2021 in Berlin verliehen werden, die aufgrund der anhaltenden Covid-19-Pandemie online stattfinden wird.

Sie können bis zum 31. Dezember 2020 Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten für die Auszeichnung vorschlagen. Interessierte finden nähere Informationen im folgenden Ausschreibungstext:

"There are many among the 2.9 million students who are involved in state and society, politics and associations, but above all in voluntary and altruistic activities beyond their specialist studies," explained DHV President Professor Dr. Bernhard Kempen and DSW President Professor Dr. Rolf-Dieter Postlep. "The German University Association (DHV) and the German Student Union (DSW) want to make this commitment more visible with the award 'Student of the Year' by giving publicity to a particularly positive example of student commitment".

Who will be "Student of the Year"? For the sixth time, the German Association of Universities and the German Student Union (Deutsches Studentenwerk) are awarding the prize for student commitment, which they jointly created five years ago. The prize is to be awarded at the "Gala of German Science" on March 22, 2021 in Berlin, which will be held online due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic.
